The project involves performing the necessary follow up for all the projects administered by the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) in the West Bank. The IDB is administering a total of 37 projects, a number of them including many sub-projects. The projects cover projects in various sectors, such as: education, health, infrastructure, agricultural development, social welfare, etc. all over the West Bank. Universal Group had been selected among other Palestinian consulting firms to follow up these projects for one year starting Oct. 2001.
- Monitor projects progress and oversee overall activities.
- Construct a computerized database which includes all the projects.
- Use of Geographic Information System in analysis and presentation of information.
- Provide technical assistance to local beneficiaries.
- Perform initial assessment for new or additional projects.
UG provided the following services:
- Follow-up the implementation of on-going projects.
- Preparation of initial assessment studies for new projects.
- Construction of a computerized database on IDB administered projects.
- Performing sectoral and geographic analysis using GIS.
- Coordination with the implementing ministries and agencies, consulting firms, and contractors.
- Performing field visits to the projects under implementation.
- Performing analysis on the progress of projects.
- Assistance in procurement processes.
