- Tulkarem Municipality water supply scheme provides services to the area within the Municipality boundaries in addition to the Nur-Shams Refugee Camp and the newly developed areas outside the Municipality Boundaries.
- The activities of the project include the identification of the problem, estimation of the exact losses, identification of the required measures to overcome the water shortage within the project area, measures for proper operation and maintenance of the network, capacity building of the water department of the Tulkarem Municipality.
- Part of the project activities will be directed towards the upgrading of the existing wastewater treatment facilities for the project area and expanding the wastewater collection network to reduce the risk of polluting the water sources.
Universal Group in association with DAR
(German Environmental Consultants) performed the following:
- Preparation of detailed design drawings and tender documents.
- Define measures to be implemented to reduce the water losses in the Tulkarem Municipality water distribution network.
- Design the rehabilitation of the existing wastewater treatment ponds.
- Supervision of the construction works.
